"Marmolak", the name which remind you the latest film of "Kamal-e-tabrizi". The film is about a prisoner named "Marmolak",who has great abilities and is accused of robing some where else with gun. The principal of the jail is a strict man who treat the prisoner as they are ruled by devil and wants to heal them even by force. "Tabrizi" shows us exactly the same personality from the principal as we have seen before in "Parvaz bar farazeh ashyaneyeh fakhteh" from "mishel forman" as the nurse. During the film "Marmolak" find a chance to run away from the jail by the help of a priest with putting on his clothes. During his escape he is forced to work in a mosque of a small city and advice people of the town.
As he is a real "Marmolak" his act comes effective and he can attract people and becoming the most favorite character of the town. Tabrzi whit his authority in implying the bitter problems of our society in funny dialogues cause you laugh during the film and simultaneously running away from the scissor of "Ershad" ministry.
At the end "Marmolak" affects from his own words and advices and becomes domestic and he concludes that love makes most savage men become domestic.
The film has very positive points in my view especially making 2 hours full of laughing for you, showing some of special behavior of our "Akhond" and overall shows Iran society in small size.
In my view this film is the second version of "Leili ba man ast" just with another kind of implication of the concept and new persons. Tabrizi put a gun on the head of his film and pull the trigger whith the last dialogue in which Marmolak knows the priest cloth the cause of his return to god and in this way he can achieve the affection and mercy of the principal who has found Marmolak in the town in the last scene. Maybe this dialogue had added to the film just for "Ershad" license, but whatever it has came from I can't understand the changes which occur in the end and its relation with old thoughts of Marmolak. I mean at last he became a free man or a slave of his cloth.
Ok, I think that's enough for nagging of this good director, he should have his own reason.
I surely recommend you go and watch this film especially with your girlfriend and for girls with their boyfriend because it will make you enjoy your life more.
